High Flyer gains wings

Cadet Flight Sergeant Alex Kouam has gained his Pilots Wings despite the British weather.
Alex attended Tayside Aviation in Dundee Scotland from 4th – 17th May 2009, weather prevented Alex from fully completing the course and going solo.
Alex then had to come back to London to undertake his exams and after completing them returned to Tayside Aviation and finally went solo on 28th May 2009. Alex quoted how he had fully enjoyed the course meeting and making new friends and the sheer experience of the course was very worth while. He went on to say how he would recommend the course to all cadets and that they should all apply for it.

London Air Cadets recently found themselves in the cells at Central Criminal Court, commonly known as the “The Old Bailey”.
The YOU London network enabled an Air Cadet from 1475 (Dulwich) Squadron in London to attend a walking group leaders course which was being run by the Volunteer Police Cadets.
Group Captain Dave Lee, Officer Commanding Number 1 Elementary Flying School (EFTS) paid a flying visit to 614 (Wethersfield) Volunteer Gliding Squadron (VGS) to present “gold” solo wings to 2 Air Cadets from London Wing on successful completion of their gliding scholarship courses.
Four Teams from London Wing units, 241 (Wanstead and Woodford) and 1838 (Elm Park) Squadron’s attended the Inter Service Cadet Rifle Meet (“ISCRM”) which took place on the 08 to 11 July 2010 at the National Shooting Centre in Bisley.
London Wing Cadet Flight Sergeant, Alexandra Dutch of 241 (Wanstead and Woodford) Sqn joined Air Cadets from across the United Kingdom as well as their counterparts in the Army and Sea Cadets to meet distinguished guests and at The House of Commons Speaker’s at a special reception to celebrate Cadet 150.
