What we do

The Cadets in London Wing participate fully in each and every aspect of the Corps Training Programme: the academic syllabus geared to the coverage of aviation and its associated subjects; gliding and air experience flying; shooting; annual camps at RAF Stations; adventurous training; visits abroad and visits to many aircraft and engineering facilities.

The ATC is one of the largest operating authorities for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and London Wing is the second highest achiever at Bronze level for the Duke of Edinburgh Award throughout the Corps, 5th out of 36 Wings for sporting achievements and the highest achieving Wing in London & South East Region for BTEC Awards.

We are rightly proud of our achievements and the benefits that being members of the Air Training Corps brings to staff and in particular, our cadets. We are an organization focused on the development of youth in its broadest sense. From teamwork to leadership, first aid to degree level awards for staff, the Air Training Corps has a lot to offer.

London Wing cadets and staff perform many ceremonial duties to represent the Air Training Corps and the Royal Air Force throughout the capital, annually taking part in the Lord Mayors Show, The Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall, and the Field of Remembrance service at Westminster Abbey as well as many other high profile and notable events.

Our Squadrons meet regularly on at least 2 evenings each week, with many of them also having a full weekend programme of activities.Leadership Full advantage is taken of the opportunities to involve cadets in local community activities and the cadets in London Wing excel with their record of service, thereby gaining for themselves a broader understanding of the value of good citizenship and service to others before self.

Our staff aim to help young people to achieve by encouraging them to realise their own potential and to become the very best they can be.

Your local Squadron in  London Wing will always welcome new members, whether that is as a cadet, adult volunteer staff or as a member of a Squadrons Civilian Committee.

If you think that you could become part of a great team, contact your local Squadron and join London Wing of the Air Training Corps today.
