| As part of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, 14 cadets from 2324 (Chigwell) Squadron were given the chance to experience the first county unique 12-week course with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service at Loughton Fire Station. The course enabled the youngsters to complete the 'service' section of the prestigious award. |

| Dec 07 - A Starting Point for Staff |
| Training the next generation of cadets needs a good staff team to lead them forward. As a result, London Wing has invested time in helping candidates for uniformed roles prepare to take on their roles as leaders in the Air Cadet Organisation. One of the major success stories has been the creation of the Staff Development Course. Launched in late 2005, the course provides insight in to what is involved as a member of staff and how to approach the challenge of training cadets in Squadrons across London. |

| From Essex to Equador |
| Seventeen cadets and staff from 241 (Wanstead & Woodford) Squadron Air Cadets, recently returned from a three-week trip of a lifetime to Ecuador, South America. The main objective of the expedition was to climb the highest active volcano in the world, Cotopaxi, at nearly 6,000 metres high. In addition the group would spend a week exploring the Amazon jungle and work with the homeless kids who live on the streets of Quito, the capital city. |
